Installing Plugins
Plugins extend your server with new gameplay features, admin tools, economy systems, and more. Paper supports plugins built for Bukkit, Spigot, and Paper.
Where to Find Plugins
- Hangar — Official Paper plugin repository
- Modrinth — Cross-platform, actively moderated
- SpigotMC — Large catalogue, mixed quality
- Bukkit Dev — Older plugins, mostly legacy
Note
Always download plugins from the official source. Third-party re-uploads may contain malware.
Installing a Plugin
- Download the plugin
.jarfile from the source - In the panel, go to Files →
plugins/ - Click Upload and select the
.jar - Restart the server — plugins load on startup
Checking Installed Plugins
From the console:
bash
plugins
Output looks like:
text
Plugins (3): EssentialsX, LuckPerms, Vault
Green = enabled, red = failed to load.
Plugin Data Folders
Each plugin creates a folder under plugins/PluginName/ on first run. Config files (usually config.yml) live here.
