Connecting to Your Server
Your server has a public address — nobody needs to port-forward or configure their own router to join, that’s only a self-hosting problem. You just need the address itself.
Finding Your Address
In the panel, check the Network tab (see Panel Overview) for your allocated IP and port. You’ll get two pieces of information:
- An IP address (or hostname) — something like
play.example.comor123.45.67.89 - A port — Java defaults to
25565, Bedrock to19132
Joining on Java
- Open Minecraft → Multiplayer → Add Server
- Server Address: your IP, plus
:portonly if your port isn’t25565(e.g.play.example.com:25566) - Done — Save and join
Joining on Bedrock
- Open Minecraft → Play → Servers tab → scroll to the bottom → Add Server
- Enter a name, then the IP address and port separately (Bedrock’s Add Server screen has separate fields, not one combined address)
- Save and join
Note
Bedrock and Java can’t connect to each other’s servers directly. Make sure you’re joining with the edition that matches how the server was set up — see Choosing Java or Bedrock if you’re not sure which yours is.
If You Can’t Connect
Start the server if it’s stopped, confirm you’re using the right edition and port, and check I Can’t Connect to My Server for the full troubleshooting list.
